Meta announces $35 billion offering and $60 billion at-the-market sale
Meta announced an offering of about $35 billion in common and preferred stock, plus a $60 billion at-the-market sale of new Class C common stock, saying AI is already generating tangible returns.

Meta on Monday morning announced an offering of about $35 billion — roughly $22.5 billion in common stock and $12.5 billion of preferred shares. In addition, the company plans to raise another $60 billion in an at-the-market offering of its new Class C common stock.

The company framed the raise as a bet already paying off. "AI is creating significant opportunities for Meta across its core business and new products and services," Meta said, adding that its AI investments are "already generating tangible returns through increased engagement, improved advertising performance and increased monetization."

Meta said it is also pursuing "new opportunities across personal superintelligence, consumer and business agents, enterprise products, and AI glasses" — a list that stretches well beyond advertising into products that would compete with other AI developers.

The scale of the offering lands in a busy week for markets, with bitcoin barely holding $80,000 ahead of the Fed on Wednesday and major technology earnings due. How investors absorb a raise of this size will be read as a test of appetite for AI spending across the sector, not only at Meta.

The structure matters for existing holders: the at-the-market programme sells newly created Class C shares gradually into the market rather than in a single block, and the preferred tranche sits alongside common equity in the same announcement.
