CBD Punjab advances planning for Lahore diplomatic enclave

Central Business District Punjab (CBD Punjab) says it is accelerating preparations for a proposed diplomatic enclave at the Bab-e-Pakistan site in Lahore, and has begun work on the project's design. Chief executive Imran Amin visited the site to review initial site-clearing and preliminary development activity, the authority said.

The proposed enclave covers approximately 374 kanals and is envisioned by CBD Punjab as a dedicated diplomatic destination with facilities for foreign missions, including those of the United States and China. The authority said the project is expected to strengthen Punjab's international engagement by providing a purpose-built environment for diplomatic representation and by creating opportunities for international cooperation and investment.

Amin said the enclave would be an important step towards positioning Punjab as a destination for international diplomatic engagement and investment. He said CBD Punjab remained committed to advancing Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz's vision through modern urban planning, infrastructure and sustainable development that would contribute to the province's economic growth and strengthen its international standing.

During the same visit, Amin inspected progress at CBD Walk and CBD Lake. Teams briefed him that asphalt work on the main road at CBD Walk had been completed, while marble installation along the foundation and sloping sections of CBD Lake was in progress. Amin emphasised the importance of maintaining quality standards and ensuring timely progress across the project components. Directors and officers from the relevant departments were also present.

The announcement did not include a cost estimate or a completion timeline for the enclave. CBD Punjab is the provincial body developing the Central Business District at Bab-e-Pakistan, where the enclave is planned.
