Gold falls Rs2,500 per tola in Pakistan as international prices slip

Gold prices in Pakistan fell by Rs2,500 per tola on Saturday, taking the rate to Rs422,036, according to figures published by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA). The move extends a two-day slide that began with a Rs7,000 per tola decline on Friday, when the rate stood at Rs424,536.
The association reported that 10-gram gold also fell, down Rs2,144 to Rs361,827. Silver eased by a smaller margin, losing Rs7 per tola to trade at Rs5,858. The two consecutive daily declines in gold amount to Rs9,500 per tola.
The domestic move tracked a fall in international bullion prices, which the source figures put at $25 per ounce lower at $3,995. Local rates generally follow international bullion prices and can also be influenced by currency movements and other market conditions, though the available figures did not identify the specific factors behind the international decline.
For Pakistani buyers and jewellers, the latest APGJSA rates serve as the reference for Saturday's trading. The association's quoted levels may change with subsequent market movements.
