Sovereign Gold Bond 2021-22 Series VII early redemption price set at ₹14,167
Holders of the 2021-22 Series VII Sovereign Gold Bond can redeem early at ₹14,167 per unit on November 02, 2026, based on a three-day average of 999-purity gold.

The premature redemption price for the 2021-22 Series VII Sovereign Gold Bond has been set at ₹14,167 per unit for the redemption due on November 02, 2026, according to a press release from Ajit Prasad, Deputy General Manager (Communications).

The price is the simple average of the closing price of gold of 999 purity over the previous three business days — October 28, October 29 and October 30, 2026 — as published by the India Bullion and Jewellers Association Ltd (IBJA).

Under the scheme, premature redemption is permitted only after the fifth year from the date of issue and only on a date when interest is payable. This tranche was issued on November 02, 2021, under a government notification dated October 21, 2021, making November 02, 2026 the due date for early exit.

The pricing formula links the payout directly to the bullion market rather than to a fixed coupon, so the redemption value moves with gold's closing levels in the days before exit. The announcement was made by Ajit Prasad, Deputy General Manager (Communications), in Press Release: 2026-2027/1419.
