Pakistan banks to stay open until 10pm on 30 September for tax payments
The State Bank of Pakistan says commercial bank branches will remain open until 10pm on Wednesday, 30 September at the Federal Board of Revenue's request, to help taxpayers make over-the-counter government payments.

Commercial bank branches across Pakistan will remain open until 10:00 pm on Wednesday, 30 September 2026 to allow taxpayers to make over-the-counter payments of government duties and taxes, according to the State Bank of Pakistan.

The central bank said the decision was taken at the request of the Federal Board of Revenue, so that taxpayers can complete government-related payments before the deadline. The source announcement did not specify which tax deadline is involved.

Banks have also been directed to keep the relevant branches operational for as long as necessary on 30 September to support Special Clearing arrangements for government transactions processed through the National Institutional Facilitation Technologies.

In addition, the State Bank advised banks to ensure uninterrupted access to digital payment services, including internet banking, mobile applications, ATMs and other online channels, so that taxpayers can settle government duties and taxes electronically.
