KSE-100 gains over 500 points as investors build positions

Buying returned to the Pakistan Stock Exchange on Tuesday, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index gaining over 500 points in early trading as investors built positions across major sectors. The index stood at 166,421.01 points by 12:38pm, up 553.70 points, or 0.33%, from the previous close of 165,867.31.
The market opened on a positive note, hovering around 166,414.97 points at 9:33am for a gain of 547.66 points, or 0.33%. The market's high so far stood at 166,785.13 points, while the low was 165,651.67 points. Trading volume reached 66.12 million shares, with the traded value at Rs4.39 billion.
Buying interest was visible across automobile assemblers, cement, commercial banks, oil and gas exploration companies, oil marketing companies, power generation and refineries. The positive opening came amid a decline in international oil prices, as resilient Middle Eastern crude exports and the G7's emergency stockpile release eased immediate supply concerns, although lingering security risks in the region limited the decline. Brent crude futures fell 83 cents, or 0.8%, to $99.49 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate crude futures dropped $1, or 1.1%, to $88.43 a barrel around 0650 GMT.
In corporate news, Sazgar Engineering Works (SAZEW) reported four-wheeler sales of 2,474 units in August and September 2026, broadly flat year on year, according to Topline Securities. By midday, the buying momentum remained intact, with the KSE-100 index holding firmly in positive territory as investors continued to accumulate positions across key sectors.
