KSE-100 falls 1,549 points to close at 162,374
The Pakistan Stock Exchange's benchmark index ended Friday lower at 162,374 points, having traded between 163,966 and 162,292 during the session, on volume of 390 million shares worth about Rs18 billion.

The Pakistan Stock Exchange closed lower on Friday, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index shedding 1,549 points to settle at 162,374, according to the exchange's closing figures for the session on 23 October.

The index traded within a wide band during the day, touching an intraday high of 163,966 points before falling to a low of 162,292. It finished much closer to that low than to its peak, reflecting selling pressure that built over the session.

Activity across the exchange remained substantial. About 390 million shares changed hands, with the combined value of trades at roughly Rs18 billion.

The available figures did not identify specific reasons for the decline. The move follows other recent sessions in which the index has come under pressure.

For Pakistani investors, the close leaves the benchmark well below its intraday peak, and the session's range indicates that sentiment weakened as trading progressed rather than recovering into the bell.
