Pakistan revises National Savings profit rates across schemes
Special Savings Certificates now offer 12% for the first five payments, while short-term certificates pay up to 11.72% for one year and Islamic term accounts up to 12.12%.

Pakistan has revised profit rates on its National Savings schemes, adjusting returns across both conventional and Islamic products, according to the announced schedule.

Under the revised rates, Special Savings Certificates will offer 12% annual profit for the first five profit payments, with the sixth carrying an annual rate of 12.8%. Defence Savings Certificates will provide a cumulative return of up to 215% over ten years. Regular Income Certificates will pay Rs1,010 monthly on an investment of Rs100,000, while Behbood Savings Certificates will provide Rs1,080 monthly on the same amount. Pensioners Benefit Accounts and Shuhada Family Welfare Accounts will also offer Rs1,080 monthly per Rs100,000 invested.

Short-term Savings Certificates will offer annual profit rates of 11.12% for three months, 11.50% for six months and 11.72% for one year. The annual profit rate for regular National Savings accounts remains unchanged at 10%.

Among Islamic products, the Sarwa Islamic Term Account will offer an expected annual return of 11.84% for one year, 12.10% for three years and 12.12% for five years. The announced figures outline returns before applicable deductions, which may include withholding tax and Zakat, so actual proceeds may differ.

National Savings schemes are a long-standing savings channel for retail investors in Pakistan, and the monthly-income options may appeal to those seeking regular returns while longer-term certificates suit extended investment horizons. Customers should confirm the latest terms and eligibility requirements with National Savings before investing.
