Gold falls Rs7,000 per tola in Pakistan as international rate slips
Gold prices in Pakistan fell by Rs7,000 per tola on Friday, with the local rate reaching Rs424,536, according to rates shared by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA). Ten-gram gold was sold at Rs363,971 after a decline of Rs6,001.
The move followed the international market, where the gold rate declined by $70 to $4,020 per ounce. The previous day had already brought a Rs3,000 per tola fall, when the local rate stood at Rs431,536.
Silver also weakened, decreasing by Rs221 to Rs5,865 per tola, the association's rates showed.
The decline offers some relief on price levels in a market where gold remains a traditional store of value for Pakistani households, though the association's figures reflect dealer rates rather than any official benchmark.
