Pakistan raises petrol price by Rs1.82, cuts diesel by 91 paisa

The government has raised the price of petrol by Rs1.82 per litre to Rs396.65 and reduced the price of high-speed diesel by 91 paisa to Rs394.94 per litre, with the revised ex-depot rates effective from 8 October 2026.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority revised the prices under the government's petroleum pricing mechanism, according to the Petroleum Division. The division said the revised prices were linked to changes in petrol and diesel prices in the international market, and were set in line with international market prices, Platts rates, premiums and other related costs.
The latest revision follows the previous one, in which the federal government cut the diesel price by Rs1.91 to Rs395.85 per litre while increasing the petrol price by Rs1.19 per litre to Rs394.83.
Oil prices rose on Wednesday, with Brent futures holding above $100 a barrel on supply concerns as investors weighed a surprise drop in US crude stocks, war-driven bottlenecks and a storm heading for US oil-producing regions. Brent crude futures were up $1.29, or 1.28%, at $101.87 a barrel at 10:52 a.m. ET (1452 GMT), while US West Texas Intermediate crude was up 22 cents, or 0.25%, at $89.66. US crude and distillate inventories fell while gasoline stocks rose last week, the Energy Information Administration said, with crude stocks down 3.2 million barrels to 424.1 million barrels in the week ended 2 October, against analysts' expectations in a Reuters poll for a 1.7 million-barrel rise.
