Chinese e-commerce park eyes Pakistani pine nuts and rice in two-way trade push
A Hulunbuir industrial park wants Pakistani pine nuts, rice and sesame on Chinese shelves, and is offering food-processing know-how in return. Pakistan already shipped $14.52m of boiled beef to China.

A Chinese e-commerce industrial park in Inner Mongolia is courting Pakistani exporters of pine nuts, rice and sesame seeds, while offering to share beef slaughtering and preservation techniques that could lift Pakistan's processed-meat sales into China.

Wang Bin, who heads the Hulunbuir E-commerce Industrial Park, said the park is open to importing those Pakistani products and to helping Chinese firms sell meat, textiles and agricultural goods into Pakistan, according to Token Times. The park, set up in late 2023 with 47 million yuan of investment, has linked with 135 companies and aggregates more than 1,200 product lines, including beef, mutton, corn and blueberries, for online sale.

Pakistan's existing trade gives the pitch a base. Chinese customs data show Pakistan shipped 2.38 million kilograms of boiled beef, valued at $14.52 million, under a single processed-meat code, and Wang said modern slaughtering and preservation methods could help Pakistani producers build on that.

The park's model pools warehousing, promotion, order processing and delivery so small producers do not have to run every stage of a sale themselves. Wang cited a corn producer in Molidawa Daur Autonomous Banner that generated about 500,000 yuan from a single livestream on Oriental Selection, then built a factory and obtained import-export qualifications. An airport-linked cargo station now supports same-day or next-day delivery to 25 Chinese cities, he said.

For Pakistani exporters, the opening is real but conditional: two-way trade still depends on import approvals, product standards, logistics and market research, the park's head acknowledged. Wang said cooperation could stretch beyond farm goods into food processing, distribution and online retail, giving Chinese buyers new Pakistani specialties and Pakistani sellers a digital route into Chinese consumers.
