Petrol rises to Rs393.64 a litre as diesel falls to Rs397.76
The federal government raised petrol by 88 paisa to Rs393.64 a litre from October 6, 2026, and cut high-speed diesel by Rs1.88 to Rs397.76. Petrol has risen Rs6.24 since October 1.

Pakistan's federal government has revised petroleum prices, raising petrol by 88 paisa per litre and cutting high-speed diesel by Rs1.88 per litre, with the new rates effective from October 6, 2026. Petrol now stands at Rs393.64 per litre, up from Rs392.76, while high-speed diesel falls to Rs397.76 from Rs399.64.

The increase extends a run of upward revisions at the start of October. According to the figures supplied, petrol was priced at Rs387.40 per litre on October 1, rose to Rs390.66 on October 2, was raised again by Rs2.10 to Rs392.76 from October 3, and held at that level through October 5. The new rate of Rs393.64 is Rs6.24 per litre higher than the October 1 price, although the data show prices moving in both directions over the preceding ten days.

Diesel moved the other way. The Rs1.88 cut offers some relief to consumers and to sectors that depend heavily on high-speed diesel, including commercial transport, logistics and agriculture. How much of that relief reaches end users will depend on the extent to which the reduction is passed through into transportation and other operating costs.

The revision comes against continued volatility in international oil markets. Market figures cited alongside the notification showed WTI crude at $89.89 per barrel, down $1.22 or 1.34%, and Brent crude at $100.64 per barrel, down $1.61 or 1.57%. The government has adjusted domestic rates repeatedly in response to movements in international petroleum markets.
